The Role

We are looking for Sheet Metal Apprentices to join the Cardinal Mechanical team; apprentices of all levels (levels 1-4) are welcome to apply! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and mechanics, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role involves performing hands-on tasks that require precision and attention to detail. A Sheet Metal Apprentice will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of metal components throughout all our properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble sheet metal products based on specifications and blueprints.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and joining metal materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction.
• Collaborate with other trades such as electrical and plumbing to ensure seamless project execution.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise during the installation process.

What We’re Looking For

• Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to sheet metal work.
• Understanding of construction principles and practices.
• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, flooring installation, tile laying, welding, caulking, restoration, or construction painting is considered a strong asset but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across various trades.

What You’ll Need

• A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle to get to job sites.
• Be a registered Sheet Metal Apprentice.
