The Role
We are looking for Sheet Metal Apprentices to join the Cardinal Mechanical team; apprentices of all levels (levels 1-4) are welcome to apply! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and mechanics, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role involves performing hands-on tasks that require precision and attention to detail. A Sheet Metal Apprentice will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of metal components throughout all our properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble sheet metal products based on specifications and blueprints.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and joining metal materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate construction.
- Collaborate with other trades such as electrical and plumbing to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during the installation process.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to sheet metal work.
- Understanding of construction principles and practices.
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, flooring installation, tile laying, welding, caulking, restoration, or construction painting is considered a strong asset but not required.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members across various trades.
- A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle to get to job sites.
- Be a registered Sheet Metal Apprentice.
