The Placement and Advising Coordinator supports successful teacher candidate progression and serves as a key resource for teacher candidates, faculty, external partners, and university stakeholders. Working closely with the Director of the Center for Student Success, the Coordinator strengthens educator preparation by managing quality student teaching placements, fostering partnerships, guiding teacher candidates from program admission through licensure recommendation, maintaining accurate documentation for licensure, assessment, and accreditation, supporting licensure processes in collaboration with the CSS Director and Teacher Education Unit Accreditation Lead, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Salary Range: $47,845-$93,809;
Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree plus one year of professional experience in an education setting or bachelor's degree plus two years of professional experience in an education setting or three years of professional experience in an education setting or an equivalent combination of postsecondary training, education and/or professional experience.
• Experience working directly with students.
• Demonstrated oral, verbal, and written communication skills sufficient to communicate in writing, over the phone, and prepare and deliver presentation.
• Demonstrated ability for creative problem solving and the ability to understand complex systems.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to speak in public.

Preferred

Qualification:

• Professional Work Experience with P-12 schools
• Professional Work Experience in post-secondary education
• Demonstrated Knowledge in student advising models.
• Demonstrated ability for handling multiple projects simultaneously.
