Overview
As a senior leader within the Global MCC Tax Team, the Senior Manager, Corporate Tax is responsible for overseeing complex global tax compliance and reporting processes, driving strategic tax initiatives, and ensuring strong governance across MCC’s global tax profile. The role provides technical leadership, manages external and internal relationships, and plays a critical part in shaping MCC’s global tax strategy, including cash tax planning, transfer pricing, legal entity rationalization, and global tax optimization.
Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns prepared by third‑party providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process, including review of ASC 740 calculations, supporting schedules, and coordination with external consultants.
- Provide technical leadership on complex U.S. and international tax matters, including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, UNICAP, and foreign tax credit calculations.
- Supervise and mentor Managers, Senior Accountants, and shared services teams, providing coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Oversee fixed‑asset tax processes, including review of additions, disposals, depreciation, and roll forwards.
- Ensure accuracy of tax‑related general ledger accounts and oversee tax accounting controls and documentation.
- Manage federal, state, and local tax audits and inquiries, serving as the primary point of contact with tax authorities and external advisors.
- Oversee domestic estimated tax payment calculations, settlements, and compliance calendars for global filings.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of foreign tax provision packets and statutory reporting deliverables.
- Lead global tax planning initiatives, including legal entity rationalization, tax‑efficient cash repatriation, and global structuring projects.
- Oversee transfer pricing project management, including policy implementation, documentation, and coordination with global finance teams.
- Direct R&D credit studies, state tax incentive projects, and other specialized tax initiatives with third‑party providers.
- Evaluate and implement tax process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology enhancements across the tax function.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, AP, and Purchasing to strengthen tax processes, improve data quality, and support business initiatives.
- Oversee royalty model preparation, invoicing, and withholding tax analysis for global intercompany transactions.
- Support corporate budgeting, forecasting, and cash tax planning for the MCC Tax Department.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA, MBA, or MST preferred.
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax, including federal and state income tax for C Corporations. International tax experience strongly preferred.
- Deep technical knowledge of ASC 740, U.S. corporate tax rules, and global tax concepts.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, complex projects, and external advisors.
- Strong analytical, communication, and executive‑level presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP, Sage FAS, One Source, and Hyperion preferred.
- Work is primarily office‑based or home‑office‑based; requires extended periods of sitting, computer use, occasional walking or light lifting, and may involve brief visits to manufacturing areas. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
