Machine Operator
This role involves operating manufacturing machinery, safely moving large steel components using a hoist, and performing accurate measurements to support high-quality production on the 2nd shift. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a manufacturing environment and wants to develop and advance their skills through on-the-job training.
Responsibilities- Operate manufacturing machines safely and efficiently according to established procedures.
- Use a hoist to safely lift, move, and position large steel pieces during production.
- Perform basic machine setup and adjustments as needed to maintain proper operation.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints to understand part specifications and production requirements.
- Ability to operate production machinery safely and consistently.
- Proficiency using calipers and tape measures to perform accurate measurements and quality checks.
- Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and converting fractions to decimals.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with assembly work in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with general machine operating practices and manufacturing workflows.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes through on-the-job training.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in a shift-based production environment.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing facility working with large steel components and production machinery. The 2nd shift schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with a shift differential offered for 2nd shift work. The first 90 days may include training on a split schedule to ensure proper onboarding and skill development. The environment requires consistent use of measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures, as well as hoists for moving heavy materials.
Team members follow safety procedures and work in a hands-on, production-focused setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winona, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
