Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg/Peds. 0.75 – 0.90 FTE, 60 – 72 hours per pay period. Days, hours between 6:45 am – 7:15 pm. Weekends:
Every Third Weekend. Holidays:
Every Third Holiday.
Pay range: $36.33 USD to $53.03 USD per hour. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on factors including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a health care professional skilled in all aspects of the nursing process. The RN is adaptable to the needs of the individual and family during health and illness and can prioritize care. The RN directs staff assigned to them and is responsible for delivering individualized nursing care to the Obstetrical/Gynecological (OB/GYN) and Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) populations. The RN has an advanced understanding of the Nursing Practice Process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of OB/GYN, medical, and surgical patients.
They provide direct care addressing physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient and family.
- Modifies the care plan based on patient needs and consults with medical staff about changes in the patient’s condition.
- Acts as a resource to other team members including students.
- Keeps updated on current nursing practice, medications, and legal issues related to patient-based services.
- Follows infection control policies and maintains patient safety, taking necessary precautions as warranted.
- Conforms to the Nurse Practice Act. Conducts Medical Screening Exams under the direction of the OB provider.
- Collects, interprets, and documents data in the EMR and communicates pertinent information to the health care team. Reports malfunctioning equipment and removes it from the patient care area to maintain safety.
- Participates in and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- May be required to float to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as necessary.
- Answers patient call lights and addresses patient needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:
Required:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- RN License in Minnesota
- BLS Certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training will be provided with recertification required every two years
- Trauma Training completed in house and required by end of orientation
- Verbalizes role in public address codes
- Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Word and Outlook. Patient Information Database (Cerner)
Preferred:
- ACLS
