1st grade aide

The 1st grade Teacher’s Assistant will support the Lead Teacher with all daily operations of the 1st grade classroom from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm. Responsibilities include preparing the classroom and supplies for daily learning and play tasks; providing hands‑on support and reinforcement to students in large and small groups as well as individually; reinforcing curricular concepts to strengthen student skills; assisting with instructions and caring for young children;

supervising outdoor recess; accompanying students to specials classes; moving easily around the building; and maintaining strong communication with the Lead Teacher.

The classroom will consist of 15-20 1st grade students participating in a full‑day, five‑day‑per‑week instruction. The Teacher’s Assistant must be able to keep up with the physical demands of the day, work in student‑sized furniture, and handle administrative duties such as photocopying, filing and operating audiovisual equipment.

• High school or trade school degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
• Knowledge of child development and experience working with young children.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to assist with instructions, supervise small and large groups, and support individual students.
• Compliance with school licensing regulations and attendance at staff meetings and in‑service days.
• Ability to travel to specials classes and attend school events as directed.

Full‑time;
Salary: $30,000 Per Year.
