Position Overview
JFK Elementary School seeks a compassionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Math Interventionist to join our innovative, student-centered learning community. This position focuses on delivering Tier 2 math intervention for K–5 students who need additional support beyond core classroom instruction.
The Math Interventionist works within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework, partnering closely to identify student needs, analyze data, and deliver targeted intervention.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of elementary mathematics, experience with Tier 2 intervention practices, and a genuine commitment to working in a highly diverse learning community with a broad range of language abilities and backgrounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tier 2 Intervention
Deliver targeted Tier 2 math intervention to K–5 students using research-based strategies and resources.
Pre-assess students to identify skill gaps, design coherent intervention plans, and post-assess to measure growth.
Reinforce and support math concepts for students who need additional practice beyond core classroom instruction.
Data-Informed Decision Making
Use student assessment data to identify appropriate groupings and focus areas.
Collect, analyze, and monitor student progress data on an ongoing basis to measure intervention effectiveness and adjust instruction accordingly.
Share data findings and student progress.
Collaboration & Consultation
Partner to understand each student’s needs and ensure intervention is aligned.
Collaborate with colleagues to build shared knowledge of Tier 2 intervention best practices and research-based math strategies.
Participate in team meetings, data review cycles, and professional learning opportunities focused on math intervention.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student progress and share reports with the identified staff.
Attend professional development to strengthen knowledge of math intervention pedagogy and content.
Perform other duties related to math intervention as assigned by the supervisor.

Preferred Attributes:
Experience or training in any of the following is a plus:
Master’s Degree in Education or related area.
Experience delivering Tier 2 math intervention within an MTSS framework.
Familiarity with research-based math intervention programs and tools.
Experience working in diverse, multilingual school communities.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
Vermont teaching license or eligibility for a Vermont teaching license
Relevant teaching or intervention experience in elementary mathematics.
Experience with data collection, analysis, and data-driven instructional decisions.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
