Position

Description:

The Master Electrician will have proven supervisory experience running commercial projects with a minimum of eight years in electrical installations and a Master’s Electrical License (HVAC or industrial controls installation experience is a plus). He/she will be a team player, dependable, detail oriented, and have solid decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and supervise and direct other VHV employees and trades.
  • Stay current with all necessary training and licensing related to HVAC advanced control systems (BAS, EMS, DDC), IT networks, and smart HVAC equipment.
  • Provide input to sales staff for accurate estimation, design, installation, startup and commissioning of projects.
  • Support existing installations to ensure systems meet building occupancy codes and operate efficiently.
  • Hold a valid Master’s Electrical License (EM) – both VT and NH preferred.
  • Maintain all applicable certifications and licenses as required.
  • Work in extreme weather and temperature conditions.
  • Have strong practical problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ensure conformance to all company, customer, state and federal safety regulations.
  • Ensure all applicable local and state codes and standards are adhered to.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, uses and repairs.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to meet company, VOSHA, and OSHA standards.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Travel requirement – 100%.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate effectively.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Workers must see well (naturally or with correction).
  • Use hands, fingers, arms, and legs to safely manipulate objects.
  • Lift and carry tools and materials up to 75 lbs (average less than 50 lbs).
  • Climb up and down, balance, and work safely on a minimum 30‑foot ladder and scaffolding 15 feet or more in the air.
  • Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist.
  • Work regularly outside and is occasionally exposed to cold, wet, or humid conditions.
  • Work at jobsites where construction hazards exist, including moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, and confined spaces.
  • Wear proper PPE: safety boots covering the ankle, clean blue jeans or appropriate work pants without tears or rips, VHV logo on shirt or jacket (depending on weather), safety glasses, gloves, and hand tool bag.
