Responsibilities
The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Nursing Manager, and/or Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for delivering patient care as delegated by and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to the patient and family, identifying and reporting variances from the patient’s plan of care and supporting the discharge plan. Additionally, the C.N.A. may function in a secretarial role within the department.
They answer the telephone, patient call lights, visitor, patient, staff and provider questions and requests. This is a key position as the first contact most people have with the department. They assist and/or perform patient procedures within the scope of nursing practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant. They seek assistance and support when necessary, assist in data collection, organize those aspects of patient care for which they are responsible, and maintain accountability for own practice.
This position may involve caring for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent successfully completed Certified Nursing Assistant training.
- Experience: 6 months patient care experience – preferred.
- Computer
Skills:
Moderate computer skills. - Licenses: AZ Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Certifications: BLS required upon hire.
