ER RN-PRN

Overview

The staff nurse, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, Nursing Managers and Chief Nursing Officer, is responsible for conducting the initial and on-going assessments, developing the patient plan of care through the use of Care plans (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation); directing and delivering patient care, patient and family education, identifying and correcting variances from the patient’s plan of care, and completing discharge planning.

She/he is directly accountable to the Charge Nurse.

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments and participate in care planning as part of the care team.
• Develop the patient plan of care using the care plans process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and deliver patient care and patient/family education.
• Identify and correct variances from the patient’s plan of care.
• Complete discharge planning.
• Remain directly accountable to the Charge Nurse.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate from an accredited nursing training program as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Experience:
  
  2 years of Emergency Room experience required.
• Specific
  
  Skills:
  
  Good verbal and written skills; ability to communicate effectively. Basic nursing skills.
• Computer
  
  Skills:
  
  Moderate computer skills.
• Licenses:
  Arizona State Nursing License (RN) or compact state licensure.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, PALS required. NRP, ATCN, TNCC preferred.
