Accounting Manager

Hanes Companies in Winston Salem, NC is seeking a Senior Accountant. Hanes is a division of Leggett & Platt Inc. (NYSE: LEG) and has over 50 locations in North America. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the execution and integrity of core accounting processes, including month‑end close, reconciliations, and general ledger activity. This role ensures accurate, controlled, and GAAP‑compliant financial reporting while supporting audits and driving continuous process improvement.

• Execute month‑end close with accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity, including journal entries
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations with proper support
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies
• Support internal and external audits, including documentation preparation
• Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting
• Identify and resolve discrepancies to improve data accuracy
• Partner cross‑functionally to improve data quality
• Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes and tools

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with month‑end close and financial reporting
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel
