Grant Accountant

The Grant Accountant oversees the administration, compliance, financial tracking, and reporting of a portfolio of 20+ government grants. This role serves as a liaison between funding agencies, program staff, and leadership to ensure grant funds are managed effectively and all reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of federal, state, county, and city grants.
• Track grant expenditures, reimbursements, receivables, and restricted funding.
• Prepare grant budgets, budget revisions, and reimbursement requests.
• Monitor compliance with grant agreements and reporting requirements.
• Maintain grant calendars, deadlines, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with program and finance teams to gather required reporting data.
• Track employee time and expenses charged to grants.
• Support audits, grant closeouts, and financial reconciliations.
• Provide ongoing grant status updates to leadership.
• Assist with accounting and billing functions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or grant administration experience.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Nonprofit experience highly preferred.
• Government grant administration experience preferred.
• Net Suite experience highly preferred.
