Position Overview

Concentric Corporation is searching for an experienced Tax Professional to join a growing professional services organization in Winston-Salem, NC.

This position will be an experienced member of the tax team responsible for preparing and reviewing tax engagements, researching complex tax matters, supporting strategic tax planning, and developing strong client relationships. The Tax Senior will work with individuals, businesses, and trusts while helping clients understand how tax decisions fit within their broader financial goals.

This opportunity goes beyond traditional tax compliance. The Tax Senior will have exposure to year-round planning and advisory work and will collaborate with professionals across tax, accounting, and financial services to provide thoughtful, coordinated solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in public accounting, particularly individual and pass-through entity taxation, and enjoys combining technical tax expertise with client service and relationship development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review federal and state tax engagements for individuals, businesses, pass-through entities, and trusts
  • Review tax returns and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Research federal, state, and multi-state tax matters and apply findings to client-specific situations
  • Provide proactive tax planning and identify opportunities that support clients’ broader financial objectives
  • Serve as a trusted resource to clients by anticipating needs and providing clear, timely guidance
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and exceptional service
  • Explain complex tax matters in a clear and understandable way
  • Collaborate with tax, accounting, and financial professionals to provide coordinated client solutions
  • Manage multiple client engagements, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Assist with year-round tax planning and advisory initiatives in addition to traditional compliance work
  • Identify opportunities where additional services or planning may benefit existing clients
  • Stay current on changes to federal and state tax laws, GAAP, and emerging tax planning opportunities
  • Provide guidance, technical support, and mentorship to less experienced team members
  • Participate in internal training, professional development, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvements and other initiatives that strengthen the overall client experience
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive public accounting experience
  • Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
  • Strong understanding of individual and pass-through entity taxation and planning
  • Knowledge of federal and multi-state tax regulations
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Experience researching tax matters and applying technical guidance to client situations
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements and competing deadlines
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex tax matters into clear guidance for clients
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working directly with clients and managing ongoing client relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively while independently managing assigned responsibilities
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA or EA designation, or actively pursuing certification
  • Experience providing tax advisory and strategic planning services
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior team members
  • Experience identifying additional service opportunities within existing client relationships
  • Proficiency with CCH Axcess, Engagement, or similar tax and accounting software
  • Experience collaborating across tax, accounting, wealth management, or financial planning functions
