Description Of WorkThis position is part of a 4‑person support team that performs a variety of support functions for the Mental Health Licensure and Certification Section, which comprises over 75 employees. This section licenses and regulates 32 services in two separate MHL branches, 7 MHL survey teams, and 2 ICF/IID survey teams. The Administrative Specialist I position, under the supervision of the Administrative Supervisor, is responsible for daily office operations, including processing survey documents, hard‑copy and electronic files, facility licensure, data entry, maintaining the integrity of all databases, USPS mail, email, phone calls, and reception coverage.
The support staff are responsible for processing licensure applications (changes, initials, and renewals) and issuing licenses for the entire state. Must be able to multitask and pay attention to detail, while also being proficient in Adobe, Excel, Outlook, and Word. Tasks may include ordering supplies and equipment, helping process fee payments, delinquency of penalties, and fees for licensure applications, gathering and disseminating information for public record requests, and the Attorney General’s Office.
The staff are generally the first contact for the public, providers, other government agencies, private organizations, lawyers, and other professionals.
Salary Range: $39,244 – $68,679
Recruitment Range: $39,244 – $53,961

- Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships with others and carry out general instructions, both written and oral.
- Strong ability to multitask, proofread and pay close attention to details.
- Strong data entry skills with the ability to work in multiple databases with accuracy while using Adobe, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and respond cordially and effectively to phone calls and emails.
This position is funded in part through federal funds.

The Division of Health Service RegulationThe Division of Health Service Regulation oversees medical, mental health, and adult care facilities, emergency medical services, and local jails. We check to see that people receiving care in these facilities are safe and receive appropriate care. We make certain that medical buildings are built only when there is a need for them.
