Risk Manager/Analyst, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The Risk Analyst supports the Risk Manager in managing contractual, insurance, and compliance-related risk. This role is responsible for assisting with contract administration, lien-related documentation, insurance compliance, subcontractor insurance compliance, and subcontractor qualification, while also providing administrative support to senior leadership. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and familiar with construction contracts, insurance, and risk management practices.
This position requires fulltime, onsite presence in our Winston-Salem office and is not remote.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare contractual notices for review, including Notices of Contract, Notices of Commencement, Appointments of Lien Agent, and related documentation.
- Conduct property records searches as required to support lien and contract filings.
- Prepare responses to Notices of Subcontract, Notices of Furnishing, and similar notices from sub-tier subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist Risk Manager in reviewing and drafting owner contracts.
- Assist Risk Manager in reviewing requested changes from Subcontractors and Vendors to Subcontract Agreements and Purchase Orders.
- Administer Docusign process for execution of owner contracts and other documents as required.
- Review and verify subcontractor Certificates of Insurance to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and insurance providers to obtain corrected or updated insurance documentation as needed.
- Assist the Risk Manager with subcontractor qualification processes, including documentation collection and compliance verification.
- Assist the Risk Manager with joint check agreements.
- Assist Risk Manager with other insurance related matters:
- Insurance renewals
- Issuance of Certificates of Insurance
- Insurance claims
- Maintain, update and publish the company’s contractual document templates, including prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, lien waivers, letter templates, and related forms.
- Ensure templates align with current company standards and risk management requirements.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Risk Manager, President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Vice President of Human Resources as needed.
- Support internal coordination related to risk, contracts, and compliance documentation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Risk Manager.
Due to the nature of this role, the Risk Analyst will have access to confidential and proprietary company information, including contracts, financial and insurance data, subcontractor and vendor information, legal matters, and employee-related information. The Risk Analyst is expected to maintain the confidentiality of such information, use it solely for legitimate business purposes, and comply with all company policies related to confidentiality and information security.
Execution of a separate confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement may be required.
- Experience:
2-3 years of experience in insurance, accounting, or similar field preferred - Working knowledge of construction contracts, lien laws, and certificates of insurance is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with commercial general contractors or construction firms.
- Familiarity with subcontractor qualification processes.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- Proactive, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
