The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
** Description of Work
** Reporting to the Administrative Officer III at a medium custody male correctional facility, this position primarily maintains and oversees the financial accounting data for the facility’s Maintenance Department. Technical accounting work may include independent responsibility for maintaining accounting records or separate accounts payable functions. Duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Analyzing data for accuracy, to problem solve, and to interpret regulations.
2. Performing various accounting functions through NCAS/NCFS and E-Procurement such as, accounts receivables and payables, purchasing, and etc.
3. Ensuring all uniform accounting procedures are followed in processing requisitions, P-Card purchases/reconciliation, direct payment forms, expense vouchers, and vendor contracts.
4. Maintaining all logs, files and reports associated with procurement and payable files.
5. Reviewing all appliable NCAS reports on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basics.
(Salary Range: $31,200 - $51,249)
