The Engineering Technician I (S) in Jacksonville’s Construction Office supports technicians and engineers in construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control.

• Perform a wide variety of standardized and non‑standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data.
• Support construction inspection, surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control activities.
• Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally; work nights and weekends as required.
• Maintain safety philosophy and program; comply with safety requirements including safety toe shoes.
• Work in outdoor environments with extreme weather, traffic, heights, uneven terrain; lift up to 50 lbs.

• At least two years of related experience; an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments.
• Proficiency with computer equipment and iPad/tablet software; data entry and record keeping.
• Experience in customer service and interaction with the general public.
• Knowledge of general construction inspection and surveying concepts and theories.
• Physical ability to walk, climb, balance, kneel, stand, and lift 50 lbs; ability to work outdoors in extreme weather.
