Construction Laborer – Stream & Wetland Restoration
Position OverviewLocation: Yadkinville, NC
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Pay: $20 per hour or higher depending on experience.
We are seeking a dependable Construction Laborer to join a field crew performing stream, wetland, marsh, and environmental restoration work.
This is a hands‑on outdoor position for someone who is comfortable with physical labor, changing weather conditions, muddy terrain, and frequent travel. Previous stream restoration experience is helpful but not required .
Candidates with backgrounds in construction, landscaping, farming, forestry, utilities, general labor, or other outdoor work are encouraged to apply.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform general labor for construction, maintenance, and environmental restoration projects.
- Work as part of a crew on stream, wetland, and site restoration projects.
- Prepare jobsites and assist with daily project setup.
- Load, unload, move, and stage construction materials.
- Use hand tools, including sledgehammers and other construction tools.
- Install restoration and erosion‑control materials, including:
- Coir matting
- Wooden stakes
- Filter fabric
- Safety fencing
- Silt fencing
- Spread seed and straw during site restoration.
- Assist crew members with setting up bypass pumps and other equipment.
- Communicate with equipment operators and crew members using hand signals.
- Complete multiple assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Follow OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
- Ability to read and understand basic work‑related documents.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work overtime when required.
- Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds .
- Occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds .
- Perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Walk and work on uneven, muddy, or rugged terrain.
- Regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, push, and pull.
- Use hand tools and equipment throughout the workday.
- Maintain the stamina, coordination, and manual dexterity required for outdoor construction work.
- Wet and muddy conditions.
- Streams, marshes, wetlands, and restoration areas.
- Temperatures above 90°F.
- Temperatures below 32°F.
- Rain, humidity, and changing weather conditions.
- Bright sunlight or limited lighting.
- Loud construction environments.
- Areas around moving equipment and machinery.

Experience with GPS machine grade control is also a plus.
Schedule & Travel- Full‑time position.
- Overtime is frequently required.
- Frequent out‑of‑town travel is required.
- Work is primarily performed outdoors at active construction and restoration sites.
This is a good opportunity for someone who likes working outside, doesn't mind getting muddy, and is willing to perform physical work as part of a crew .
Previous environmental or stream restoration experience is not necessary. A strong candidate will be reliable, safety‑conscious, willing to learn, and comfortable working outdoors in a variety of conditions.
