Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor in Periodontology

Position Summary

The University of North Carolina invites applications for an open‑rank (Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) faculty member who will serve as a Periodontology faculty member in the Department of Periodontology, Endodontics, and Dental Hygiene. The selected candidate will provide didactic and clinical instruction as well as evaluation of pre‑doctoral dental students and graduate dental residents in periodontics, implants, and digital dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning, non‑surgical, and surgical care.

This position offers outstanding opportunities for intramural practice, scholarly activities, continuing education, professional service and research. Successful candidates should have the ability to establish a robust intramural practice with the UNC Adams School of Dentistry’s Dental Faculty Practice.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct and evaluate dental students and residents in periodontics, implants, and digital dentistry.
  • Provide didactic instruction and clinical supervision.
  • Develop and maintain an intramural clinical practice.
  • Participate in scholarly activities, continuing education, faculty service and research.
  • Uphold campus security duties as required by the Clery Act.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • DDS/DMD or equivalent degree.
  • Advanced training in periodontology and implant dentistry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board‑certified or board‑eligible in periodontology or implantology.
  • Eligibility to obtain a North Carolina conscious sedation license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership, administrative, and supervisory experience.
