We are seeking a licensed Hematologist/Oncologist Physician for a 100-day locum tenens assignment at a Hospital in North Carolina. Starting 09/29/2025, this role primarily focuses on outpatient care, with occasional inpatient consultations. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm, and Friday from 8am to 12pm. Responsibilities include managing oncology and hematology patients, participating in on-call rotations, and providing virtual consultations.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with potential for assignment extension.

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8am-5pm), Friday (8am-12pm)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care

• Manage treatment plans for cancer patients

• Conduct patient consultations and follow-ups

• Interpret diagnostic tests and lab results

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

• Participate in on-call rotations (currently 1 in
4)

• Handle phone/virtual consultations during on-call periods

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices in oncology/hematology

• Occasionally perform inpatient hospital consultations (rare)

Additional Information:

• Experience in outpatient oncology/hematology settings is highly desirable

• Comfort with telemedicine and virtual patient management

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
