Position Summary

The School of Filmmaking seeks a visionary creative film/video practitioner and educator to join the faculty in a position that bridges fiction and non-fiction filmmaking. We seek applicants with a history of working with or teaching directing, acting for non‑actors, staging for the camera, research methodologies, and experience teaching cinema studies courses. This position will introduce students to a broad range of cinematic storytelling approaches through classroom exercises and references to a wide range of films and videos that push current paradigms.

We value a faculty member who helps students generate compelling audience experiences and who can contribute to the evolution of narrative form. The ability to demonstrate an innovative teaching philosophy and practice is essential.

Competitive applicants will exhibit strong conceptual and technical understanding of the field and a record of training and mentoring undergraduate students as creative artists capable of building careers. We are especially interested in faculty who strengthen the program’s integration of industrial skills with scholarship and creative practice.
