Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher

We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

Wake Preparatory Academy is currently accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for the academic school year. This position will begin in April and continue until the end of the School year. Candidates must possess a current North Carolina Teaching Certificate with an EC endorsement in Elementary or Secondary education and be willing to undergo a background check.

Job expectations include, but are not limited:

• Daily classroom instruction as aligned to approved lesson plans.
• Ensure that all school and district policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents, school personnel, and members of the public.
• Submit grades and attendance according to the procedures of the school.
• Prepare classroom for instructions prior to the start of the school year.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pass applicable background check
• North Carolina Teaching Certificate with an EC endorsement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• North Carolina Substitute Certificate
