As the Assistant Director of Admissions, Master in Business, Climate, and Sustainability (MBCS), you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that connects business, climate science, and purpose-driven leadership. You’ll support prospective students from diverse backgrounds who are eager to drive impact at the intersection of sustainability and business innovation.

The Assistant Director plays a key role in shaping the MBCS program’s applicant pipeline and strengthening its presence among mission-driven, high-potential learners. You’ll partner closely with Fuqua and the Nicholas School to build awareness, engage prospects, guide applicants, and support strategic recruitment efforts that elevate the program in a rapidly evolving climate‑business landscape.
What You’ll Do Strategy & Planning- Collaborate across Duke Fuqua and the Nicholas School to design and execute annual recruitment strategies.
- Develop, assess, and improve lead generation, outreach, and engagement tactics.
- Research new sources of prospective students, analyze competitor strategies, and identify innovative opportunities to increase visibility.
- Build partnerships with universities, organizations, and networks aligned with climate and sustainability.
- Participate in domestic recruitment travel, with possible international engagement.
- Lead virtual information sessions and online events featuring faculty, alumni, students, and staff.
- Coordinate on-campus events including visits, interviews, info sessions, and yield programming.
- Serve as a primary advisor to prospective MBCS students through email, phone, virtual and in-person meetings, and off‑campus events.
- Train admissions colleagues from other programs to share foundational MBCS knowledge.
- Recruit and manage MBCS student ambassadors and alumni volunteers.
- Serve as the admissions committee lead for MBCS.
- Oversee reader training, application evaluation, interview processes, scholarship allocation, and waitlist strategy across both schools.
- Support Slate CRM operations including portals, workflows, and survey creation.
- Develop and refine queries and reports tracking admissions metrics across the application cycle.
- Communicate key findings, trends, and insights to leadership and partner teams.
- Partner with marketing, program teams, faculty, and career services on strategic content.
- Support social media engagement and digital storytelling across Instagram, You Tube, Linked In, blogs, and other channels.
- Elevate messaging that communicates the program’s distinct value in the climate‑business space.
- Support additional admissions and recruitment initiatives as needed.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
- Admissions, counseling, or corporate recruiting experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work generally requires two years experience in personnel, college or university administration, or related field.
