Winston-Salem State University is seeking a University Program Specialist to join the team in the Center for Innovative and Transformative Instruction (CITI). CITI is a supportive and collaborative common area for faculty, staff, and administrators to pursue innovation and transformation in higher education teaching and learning. Responsibilities of the University Program Specialist include:

• Stay current with emerging instructional technologies, artificial intelligence applications, evidence-based teaching practices, accessibility standards, and trends affecting higher education.
• Respond to faculty and academic-unit questions concerning instructional technology, course design, professional development opportunities, online teaching, accessibility, and institutional teaching initiatives.
• Research academic programs, instructional products, software platforms, and external partnerships to determine their educational value, institutional fit, cost-effectiveness, accessibility, and alignment with university priorities.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate faculty development programs, conferences, workshops, faculty learning communities, academic technology pilots, online-learning initiatives, and grant-funded activities.
• Conduct research and needs assessments to identify faculty-development priorities and gaps in instructional support.
• Prepare project summaries and recommendations for CITI leadership, funding agencies, and university stakeholders.
• Oversee assigned grant and contract proposal development, budget coordination, implementation, reporting, documentation, and compliance with pre-award and post-award requirements.
• Provide individualized and group consultation regarding instructional design, faculty development, academic technology, online and hybrid teaching, accessibility, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based teaching practices.
• Review program plans, instructional materials, public communications, grant documentation, and vendor arrangements to identify compliance concerns and coordinate corrective action.
• Translate technical, regulatory, and program information into clear guidance appropriate for different audiences.
• Communicate sensitive or consequential decisions while maintaining positive and productive professional relationships.
• Cultivate relationships and facilitate discussions involving competing interests and help stakeholders reach solutions that support faculty success, student learning, and institutional priorities.
