Position Summary InformationThe part-time instructor for Automotive Systems Technology will plan and instruct students in the day and night program, oversee lab activities related to the course, and evaluate student progress and performance.

- Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or a related field OR or 5 years Automotive Technician experience.
Note:
Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . - ASE Certified in areas you are teaching.
- Ability to work in a community environment.
- Successful teaching experience.

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the Department Chairperson and approved by the Dean.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
- Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
- Construct, administer, and grade examinations.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Attend specialized training activities that enhance job performance.
- Foster fairness and accessibility with all colleagues and students.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Pursue continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; teaching and learning; the use of educational technology; and other areas related to the strategic goals of the college.
- Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful and that maximize student outcomes.
