Description of Work The Site Manager will perform a wide range of duties overseeing the administrative management and interpretive services for Bentonville Battlefield, an over 2,100-acre North Carolina State Historic Site with approximately 50,000 visitors per year. This position is responsible for supervision of staff; preservation of site features, historic buildings, grounds; visitor services and interpretation; marketing and publicity; planning for events and educational programming;
research and compilation of documents; care of artifacts; daily grounds and facility upkeep and cleanliness; budget and payroll; purchasing of supplies, materials and equipment; supervision of gift shop and deposits; and developing community support and working with local interest groups such as the Tourism Development Authority. This position supervises four full-time staff members; as well as temporary or seasonal staff, and volunteers.
Work schedule will be Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Some holiday, evening and weekend work can be expected.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Supervision of budget and payroll; purchasing supplies, materials and equipment; supervision of gift shop and deposits.
· Develop community support and work with local interest groups such as the Tourism Development Authority.

Recruitment Range: $45,431.00 - $55,900.00

Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of this position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Knowledge of United States history and/or North Carolina history
Experience in supervision of staff in a museum or historic sites setting
Ability to develop and implement special events and educational programming
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Experience with community outreach
Position/Physical Requirements Must be available to work the schedule of Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Must have a valid driver’s license issued from within the United States or be able to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
