Job Description Summary Overview
The Wake Forest University School of Business seeks a dynamic career development professional for the role of Assistant Director,Market Readiness and Employment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and exemplary career coaching support toensure every student is “career ready,” having developed the professional competencies needed to secure desirable career outcomes. The Assistant Director may work with undergraduate or graduate students.
Job Description About the RoleEssential Functions:
- Delivers a personalized, consistent, and high-quality career coaching experience to help students successfully navigate their career and job search process. Examples may include 1:1 coaching,group coaching, presentations, innovative programs, and employer treks.
- Engages and builds relationships with both internal partners and external partners to inform coaching strategy and support student connections to the market.
- Drives high student engagement and maintains a detailed awareness of student caseload; monitors and tracks all student engagement activity, ensuring consistent and comprehensive reporting for all stakeholders.
- Assesses the unique needs of a student caseload to design and execute strategic, tailored coaching plans that drive student success.
- Supports relevant organization goals such as alumni engagement and student satisfaction.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experienceor an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to foster authentic relationships with students from varied backgrounds and career interests.
- Experience in a goal-oriented environment with demonstrated success in achieving desired outcomes.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills use to influence and communicate with various constituencies.
- Ability to design and develop goals for student caseload.
- Ability to leverage data and analytics to inform coaching strategies and report results.
- Advanced degree.
- Previous experience coaching, mentoring, or supervising college students in a School of Business or in business-related environments.
- Previous experience in higher education in a student-facing role.

Physical Requirements:Work primarily involving sitting/standing; communicating with others to exchange information; repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; and assessing the accuracy,neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Environmental Conditions:Climate controlled, office setting.
