WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY. The Department of Communication invites applications for a non-tenure track, assistant teaching faculty, tobegin July 1, 2027.
Position SummaryThe Department of Communication invites applications for a non-tenure track, assistant teaching facultywhose area of expertise is in Intercollegiate Debate with an emphasis on policy-based argumentation (e.g., plan-basedaffirmatives, disadvantages, and counterplans). This person willserve as an Associate Coach for the Wake Forest University Debate Program.
Responsibilities include:
helping debaters in the preparation of arguments, traveling to approximately twelveintercollegiate tournaments a year, judging at intercollegiatetournaments, assisting with the administration of tournamentshosted by Wake Forest University, assisting with recruiting efforts for undergraduates and graduate students, assisting with alumni relations, managing practice sessions, participating in team,staff, and department meetings, teaching COM 102 Debate and Advocacy, and performing a variety of other related duties as assigned.
The teaching load for this appointment is two courses per semester.
A terminal degree is not required. Asuccessful candidate will have substantial evidence of successcoaching policy-based argumentation in intercollegiatedebate.
