The John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Public Policy and Management with a focus in Urban P olicy and Governance at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Autumn 202 7 . We encourage applications from individuals engaged in high-quality research that is relevant to public affairs. Research and teaching interests should focus on urban pol icy an d governance , broadly de fined , in cl uding but not limit ed to research related to h ousing , tra nspor tation, la nd- use , cri tical inf ras tructure , e co nomic or workforce d evelopment and o ther place - bas ed policie s .

We welcome applicants with training in related social science disciplines, including (but not limited to) public affairs, public policy, public management, public administration, economics, sociology, planning, geography, or political science. Responsibilities will include teaching core and elective courses in the college's undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs. We encourage applicants to describe teaching and professional development experiences that have prepared them to teach and mentor learners at all levels.

In addition to scholarship and teaching, responsibilities will include service to the college, university, community, and professional associations .

We desire applicants with the potential to become productive and impactful researchers, effective teachers, and conscientious and engaged community members. The land-grant mission is core to the university and the college, and we are particularly interested in applicants whose research not only makes a strong scholarly contribution but also delivers value to the public . Relevant prior professional experience is desired but not required for the position.

• Effectively teach core and elective courses in the Glenn College's undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs, creating learning environments in which all students are valued and engaged.

• Conduct high-quality research in any subfield of urban pol icy and governance.
• Demo nstrate abili ty to teach i n a core area of the Glenn College's undergraduate or graduate curriculum
• Have, or be on track to complete before starting the position, a Ph.D. in Public Affairs or a related field.

• Engage with public affairs professional associations (e.g., A sso ciation for P ublic Policy Analysi s & Ma nagement , Pu blic Man agement Resea rch A ssocia tion , As socia tion for Public Budgeting and Fin an cial Ma nagement ) and publish research in affiliated public affairs journals.
• Conduct research relevant to local , state or federal government with evidence of (or the potential for) research partnerships with local, s tate or federal governmental entities.
