Pay Range: $40-45/hour

Teacher of the Visually Impaired | Up to $45/hour | Winston-Salem, NC | Full-Time |  School Year

Position Details:
Full Time, 1.0 FTE. Starting at the beginning of the  school year, for the entire school year.

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in alignment with their IEPs
• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments to guide instructional planning
• Adapt materials into accessible formats such as braille, large print, and tactile graphics
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support student access and success
• Support development of independence, assistive technology use, and compensatory skills

• Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited college or university in Special Education or related field.
• Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Visually Impaired (or area of Exceptional Children's Teaching)

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Provide specialized instruction across academic subjects
• Manage classroom behavior and create a structured, supportive environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Write progress reports and maintain compliant documentation
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs
• Incorporate technology and resources to enhance learning

• MUST HAVE: NCDPI License in Visually Impaired (or area of Exceptional Children's Teaching)
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
