WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY. The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics, effective July 1, 2027.

Qualifications :
We seek candidates with expertise in applied or computational mathematics who will contribute to our teaching, mentoring, and research missions while helping to expand our applied mathematics curriculum. Preference will be given to applicants with the vision and expertise to develop and teach advanced undergraduate and graduate courses that strengthen and support the continued growth of our applied mathematics program.

An earned Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Mathematics, or a related area is required for this position.

Position Summary :
The successful candidate will two teach courses per semester in applied or computational mathematics at the graduate and undergraduate level, mentor student research, actively engage with undergraduate and graduate students both inside and outside of the classroom, advance a high-quality research program, and participate in departmental, College, and University service.

About the Department of Mathematics at Wake Forest University: The department has twenty-nine faculty members. We offer the following undergraduate degrees: a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a B.A. and a B.S. in Mathematics; we also have a mathematics minor. The department also has a graduate program offering an M.S. in Mathematics with both a thesis and non-thesis option. In addition, the department currently supports five postdoctoral positions which are mentored by our permanent research faculty.
