WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY. The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics, effective July 1, 2027.

We seek candidates with expertise inapplied or computational mathematics who will contribute to our teaching, mentoring, and research missions while helping to expandour applied mathematics curriculum. Preference will be given to applicants with the vision and expertise to develop and teachadvanced undergraduate and graduate courses that strengthen and support the continued growth of our applied mathematics program. Anearned Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics,Mathematics, or a related area is required for this position.

The successful candidate will twoteach courses per semester in applied or computational mathematicsat the graduate and undergraduate level, mentor student research,actively engage with undergraduate and graduate students both inside and outside of the classroom, advance a high-quality research program, and participate in departmental, College, and University service.

The department has twenty-nine faculty members. Weoffer the following undergraduate degrees: a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a B.A. and a B.S. in Mathematics; we also have amathematics minor. The department also has a graduate program offering an M.S. in Mathematics with both a thesis and non-thesisoption. In addition, the department currently supports fivepostdoctoral positions which are mentored by our permanent researchfaculty.
