Applications Engineer-Concrete Reinforcement

Bradley Professional is recruiting for their client located in the Winston‑Salem, NC area for an Applications Engineer – Concrete Reinforcement
. This role provides technical engineering support to the sales organization and customers, acting as the bridge between customer design requirements and manufacturing execution. You will help customers transition from traditional rebar reinforcement to engineered structural mesh products.

This is a hands‑on, design‑focused engineering role ideal for someone with a civil or structural background who enjoys problem‑solving, detailed design work, and collaborating closely with sales and customers—without carrying a sales quota or people‑management responsibilities.

Working closely with inside sales representatives, you will:

• Translate customer reinforcement requirements into optimized structural mesh designs
• Produce accurate engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation
• Ensure designs are technically sound, cost‑effective, manufacturable, and aligned with customer expectations

• Convert customer‑provided rebar reinforcement plans into structural mesh designs ("conversion")
• Create detailed shop drawings, layouts, and calculations using AutoCAD and engineering software
• Perform material takeoffs from construction plans to determine quantities and specifications
• Review designs for accuracy, constructability, cost efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards
• Prepare clear and complete documentation to support manufacturing and production teams
• Communicate with sales representatives and customers to clarify requirements and confirm design intent

• Support the development of new mesh products and provide technical input for marketing materials
• Participate in industry groups, code discussions, and technical forums as a company representative
• Travel with sales representatives to customer sites to provide technical expertise, answer design questions, and build customer confidence

• Engineering background, preferably Civil or Structural Engineering
  , with a focus on concrete reinforcement
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for engineering drawings and design work
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform calculations and adjust designs as needed
• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non‑engineers (sales teams, customers, contractors)
• High attention to detail—accuracy in drawings and calculations is critical
• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to work independently and structure your day effectively

• Not fully field‑based (limited travel; most work is design and analysis focused)
