We are seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support delivery of works on the high-profile Net Zero Teesside scheme. This is a major infrastructure project contributing to the UK's decarbonisation strategy and energy transition goals.

Role Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of a specific section of works from planning through to completion
  • Coordinate and supervise Site Engineers working within your section
  • Plan and organise labour, materials and plant requirements
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme and specification
  • Monitor daily progress and address technical or logistical issues
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and tolerances
  • Maintain accurate site records, diaries and documentation
  • Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) processes, inspections and testing
  • Ensure ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans) are implemented and completed correctly
  • Support temporary works coordination where required
  • Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Raise and manage technical queries (TQs) and interface with design teams
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience working as a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on major infrastructure or heavy civils projects
  • Strong knowledge of QA procedures and site documentation processes
  • Experience coordinating engineers, subcontractors and site logistics
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
  • Good understanding of programme management and sequencing of works
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution
  • Experience on energy, industrial, heavy civils or large-scale infrastructure schemes is desirable
Qualifications (Desirable)
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • CSCS Card (appropriate level)
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator (advantageous)
