We are hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer focused within Electrical Integration of our main cabin seating team. The candidate will design major components and systems, create prototypes, and support manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include developing design data, sketches and notes for proposals, investigating key design factors for manufacturability and cost, and testing metallic or non‑metallic structures for use in engineering designs.
Responsibilities- Integrate electrical components and wiring into design while meeting vendor and OEM requirements.
- Serve as liaison between electrical integration team, electrical certification, design engineering, vendors and project teams.
- Prepare work statements for the electrical integration team.
- Direct the work of outsourced resources assigned to projects in electrical integration areas.
- Verify system configuration and block diagrams.
- Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (NX) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical and electrical designs.
- Design brackets and fixations for electrical components and wiring; verify structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification through static and dynamic crash testing.
- Evaluate materials and parts for new designs, including communication with current and new suppliers.
- Operate in a team environment with other functional areas, contributing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position.
- Experience designing with Siemens NX or other 3D CAD software.
- Experience integrating electrical components (routing, harnesses, and mechanical installations).
- Prior experience designing mechanical systems for commercial aircraft seating products.
- Experience with Teamcenter or other Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Familiarity with FAA requirements.

Salary range: $68,900 - $131,100 USD. This role is U.S.
-based; if the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
