Control Engineer

Job Description Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, develop, and integrate control systems to support manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Troubleshoot issues involving controls programs and modify programs for efficient plant machinery operation.
• Control necessary devices such as "PG" and laptops for equipment troubleshooting.
• Formulate action plans to resolve major issues.
• Collaborate with machine vendors, maintenance, and process engineers to develop automated PLC control and drive systems supporting production goals.
• Recommend improvements to systems.
• Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting efforts.
• Use control systems to improve machine uptime.
• Establish protocols for system access, backups, and data recovery.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and wiring tasks.
• Set up and enhance current control systems.
• Conduct robotics troubleshooting and adjustments.
• Maintain an inventory of all machine software packages and ensure updates are installed.
• Partner with IT to maintain and update line servers.
• Maintain Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry and adhere to safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and automotive industry standards.
• Identify environmental aspects and support EMP goals through training, engagement, and communication.

Compliance with all safety regulations, proper operating procedures, and use of required safety equipment and PPE is mandatory while performing duties.

• Two-year degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of related experience.

• Ability to understand logic control and manipulate logic to repair problems.
• Ability to apply statistical techniques and mathematical operations.
• Proficiency in various controls communication protocols.
• Proficiency with electrical concepts.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Siemens S7 Programming.
• Proficient in TIA Portal Programming.
• Proficient in RS Logix 500.
• Proficient in Studio 5000.
• Proficient in HMI Programming.
• Robotics knowledge.
