Position: Principal Structural Engineer - Certification (ONSITE)

Location:

Winston Salem, North Carolina, USA.

Work Authorization:
Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Salary Range: $107,500 - $204,500 USD.

Work type:
Onsite.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare appropriate documentation for assigned projects, including certification plans, similarity/compliance reports, qualification plans, qualification reports, and various template reports.
  • Lead or coordinate internal and external activities to ensure all agreed certification requirements are met.
  • Conduct reviews of complex analyses and tests related to new designs, methods, materials, and reports to ensure regulatory compliance and provide feedback.
  • Review complex drawings and reports to ensure conformity to regulatory requirements.
  • Check documents for clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications as needed.
  • Research regulations, develop critical data, and generate documentation in response to customer or regulatory agency requirements.
  • Communicate with customers to establish understanding of technical requirements and convey certification capabilities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and create technical proposals by integrating product knowledge, regulatory requirements, market, price, and strategy.
  • Coordinate and/or lead continuous‑improvement initiatives involving cross‑functional teams.
  • Execute strategies to improve certification efficiency, reduce costs, and demonstrate airworthiness with regulatory agencies and OEMs.
  • Develop engineering techniques across disciplines to solve problems and support certification decisions.
  • Participate as a team player across the organization, upholding corporate values and vision.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time, based on business needs.
Qualifications – Required
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 8 years of relevant experience, OR advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering (required per FAA agreement).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Company will not provide immigration sponsorship or export authorization.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Ability to work with various organizations and product lanes internally and support team success.
  • Experience and involvement in certification and testing of airplane interior components.
  • Engineering and/or certification/test experience, including certification by test and by analysis.
  • Applied experience with failure mode analysis of systems.
  • Experience reviewing and approving drawings.
  • Working knowledge of PMA/TSO/STC/OEM qualification and certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
