  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, or Engineering related field required;

Key Job Elements:
  • Pro-actively measure and manage the EHS program to eliminate hazards and keep employees safe;
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal and local governmental EHS regulations. This includes written programs, record keeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, training and medical surveillance per guidelines;
  • Direct, develop and deliver environmental, safety, and health training programs to ensure employee’s knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations pertaining to the operation of the facility;
  • Develop, implement and coordinate all Industrial Hygiene activities including non-hazardous, hazardous, and universal and infectious waste disposal;
  • Ensure all EHS issues identified during internal/external audits and Safety Committee audits are resolved;
  • Manage the facilities environmental and safety reporting including OSHA, EPA, and EPA reporting, record keeping, and environmental permits;
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate safety program and monitor work processes and procedures to drive team performance toward departmental and organizational goals;
  • Perform internal audits to identify non-compliance, hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors; audit scope includes processes, facilities and equipment;
  • Manage improvement opportunities and any non-compliance issues from concept through conclusion;
  • Perform accidents/incidents investigations and facilitates development of root cause corrections;
  • Conduct hazard assessment, including identification of hazards and corrective action plans;
  • Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on key governmental regulations pertaining to environmental, health, and safety;
  • Manage environmental documents such as permits, waste manifests, inspections and checklists within the Environmental/Safety Management System;
  • Collect storm water samples and submit chain of custody forms to the laboratory for proper analytical evaluation;
  • Assist in preparation of facility environmental audits and inspections;
  • Assist management in addressing and correcting EHS Compliance Audit findings;
  • Conduct weekly inspections (e.g., waste storage areas, storm water outfalls, etc.) and upload final inspections to Environmental/Safety Management System;
  • Review waste disposal records by maintaining copies of Manifest;
  • Review and reconcile monthly waste summary reports;
  • Collect monthly Wastewater Samples and submit chain of custody forms to the laboratory for proper analytical evaluation;
  • Assist with review and updating SWPPP/SPCC plans on an annual basis;
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly/annual Storm Water/SPCC Inspections and link final inspection to Environmental/ Safety Management System;
