Fahrenheit Advisors is seeking experienced, hands-on Controllers with Construction Industry expertise to join our finance and accounting consulting practice serving clients in Virginia, North Carolina and Nationwide. This role will be working with clients on a fractional or full-time, interim basis and offers the opportunity to collaborate with a talented and supportive team. Our clients typically range from emerging growth to middle-market companies that rely on Fahrenheit for advisory services in Finance, Accounting, and HR.

Our consultants serve our clients as Controllers performing the following responsibilities:
- Streamline and shorten the monthly and year-end closing processes ensuring proper documentation.
- Oversee accurate and timely distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly cash reporting requirements.
- Oversee reporting which monitors and proactively addresses issues relating to covenant compliance, borrowing base calculations, and debt reporting.
- Review monthly activity to ensure that all income and expenses are categorized and coded appropriately.
- Oversee the reconciliation of key financial accounts monthly.
- Proactively support process improvement initiatives with the creation and facilitation of any project plans.
- Establish and implement procedures for the preparation of financial data, processes, and systems to support decision making.
- Perform analytical procedures on financial results, preparing variance analyses, and following up on variances.
- Prepare the monthly financial and operating reporting packages.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.
- Assist in process documentation and project management specific to mergers and acquisitions.
- Oversee the financial integration of acquired entities.
- Primary responsibility for cash forecasting and highlighting liquidity issues.
- Identify, control, or process issues and assist with improving efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of experience and have the desire and expertise to act as trusted consultants and advisors to a variety of clients. They must have hands-on accounting experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for highly qualified, motivated, and organized candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit who also possess the following:
- 10+ years of experience in financial management, with a focus on the construction industry.
- Hands-on accounting experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of construction project accounting, cost management, and financial compliance.
- Familiarity with construction-specific financial software and tools.
- Expertise in managing WIP (Work-In-Progress) schedules and reporting.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy with accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze and report financial data.
- Ability to identify control issues within clients’ businesses and create processes to mitigate risk while maximizing efficiencies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective interpersonal relationships with clients and co-workers.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
