Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is seeking a Director of Budget, Financial Planning, and Shared Services. This office is the touchpoint through our campus community. Budget, Financial Planning, and shared services may not wear capes, but we are financial superheroes, balancing multi-million-dollar budgets, forecasting the future (without a crystal ball), and somehow making spreadsheets look like works of art.

They translate complex numbers into clear strategy, keep the lights on, and the water running (literally), and ensure every dollar is working as hard as our faculty and staff. The Director of Budget, Financial Planning, and Shared Services reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services and supervises two budget analysts and two business officers. The Director of Budget, Financial Planning, and Shared Services supports all university budgeting activities, and works to accommodate the processes and technical requirements of the UNC System with consideration to the university's specific needs.

This position oversees the development, ongoing maintenance, and financial analysis of the University's budget. This position handles budgetary matters involving Federal, State, Auxiliary, Overhead Receipts, Athletics and Student Activities funding. This position is responsible for establishing sound revenue projections, establishing allotments, and reviewing financial transactions to assure compliance with University policies and procedures, and Federal and State regulations. This position also acts as a liaison to the Office of State Budget and Management.

Responsibilities of the Director of Budget, Financial Planning, and Shared Services include:
