Position Summary
- Winston-Salem State University is seeking an Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services & Deputy Chief Financial Officer. The Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services & Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO) serves as the senior administrator responsible for the University's financial services operations and functions as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Deputy CFO serves as the principal deputy to the COO for financial administration and provides leadership and oversight for the University's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, purchasing, contracts and grants, payroll, student financial services, treasury operations, financial systems, tax compliance, debt administration, shared business services, and financial analytics.

The Deputy CFO supports the Chief Operating Officer by implementing institutional financial priorities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, UNC System policies, and University procedures, providing financial analyses and recommendations, and leading continuous improvement of financial operations and customer service across the University.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Financial Services & Deputy Chief Financial Officer:

• Leadership and Administrative Support
• Serve as the principal deputy to the Chief Operating Officer on financial administration and financial operations.
• Assist the COO in implementing institutional financial priorities and operational initiatives.
• Provide financial analyses, operational recommendations, and decision support to the COO, Chancellor, Cabinet, and University leadership.
• Represent the COO on financial and administrative matters as delegated.
