Employment Type:

Full-Time

Impact, Purpose & Outcome

Scholar Advising is a financial advising firm serving high net worth families across the country. The Financial Advising Analyst plays a central role in helping our clients make better financial decisions by turning complex financial details into clear, actionable planning recommendations.

This role is part financial planning, part research and analysis, and part client advisory support. The Analyst works closely with senior advisers to build comprehensive financial plans, analyze client financial situations, prepare recommendations, and support client meetings. Without the planning, analytical, and follow-through support of this position, advisers could not deliver the depth, accuracy, and client experience that Scholar Advising is known for.

Above all, this role calls for a thoughtful, detail-oriented, intellectually curious self-starter who takes ownership of the planning process, asks good questions, and wants to grow within the financial advising profession. Success in this role will result in:

  • Authentic, long-lasting relationships with clients
  • Clear, accurate, and actionable financial plans
  • Clients who feel educated, empowered, and confident in their financial decisions
  • Consistent, timely support for advisers before, during, and after client meetings
  • Improved client retention and stronger long-term client outcomes
  • A more efficient and scalable planning process across the firm
Key Responsibilities

Our Financial Advising Analyst supports the firm’s advisers in developing and delivering high-quality financial planning advice to clients. This individual helps gather and analyze client information, build financial plans, draft recommendations, prepare meeting materials, and track follow-up items through completion. The role requires strong analytical ability, excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a desire to learn the technical and relational side of financial advising.

  • Develops and supports comprehensive financial plans tailored to each client’s goals, including retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, investment strategy, cash flow, insurance, education planning, and charitable giving
  • Analyzes client financial information to identify planning opportunities, risks, tradeoffs, and priorities
  • Drafts clear, detailed, client-centered recommendations that align with client goals, firm standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepares materials for client meetings, including financial plan updates, recommendation summaries, portfolio reviews, action items, and supporting analysis
  • Participates in client meetings alongside senior advisers, taking notes, helping present planning concepts, and supporting follow-up as appropriate
  • Tracks client action items after meetings and coordinates with advisers to ensure timely completion
  • Maintains accurate documentation of client interactions, recommendations, planning assumptions, and outcomes
  • Reviews investment portfolios and identifies opportunities related to asset allocation, asset location, tax efficiency, diversification, cash management, and rebalancing
  • Researches tax, investment, retirement, estate, insurance, and other financial planning topics to support adviser recommendations
  • Contributes to the firm’s planning process by identifying inefficiencies, improving templates, and sharing best practices with the team
  • Collaborates with advisers, operations, and client service team members to provide a seamless client experience
  • Engages proactively in professional development, including progress toward the CFP designation, CFA charter, or other relevant credentials
Experience, Skills & Core Competencies
  • A self-starter who takes ownership — anticipates needs, thinks critically, follows through, and ensures planning details do not fall through the cracks
  • Preference for 1–3 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, investment analysis, or a related financial services role
