Position: PAYMENT SPECIALIST I

General Responsibilities:

As a member of Central Operations, your role entails fulfilling daily operational responsibilities and processing incoming requests from branches. This position is crucial to the overall functioning of the entire Stockman Bank system, necessitating the use of exceptional customer service skills to address transactional issues for internal or external customers. A comprehensive understanding of the bank platform is essential in assisting bank-wide personnel with tasks related to the many payments options the bank offers, updates or changes, and responding to various inquiries.

It is imperative to communicate with kindness and respect while serving in Central Operations, as we are the final line of defense. Consistent adherence to and enforcement of bank policies and procedures is vital in mitigating risk.

Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Willingness to learn and provide exceptional customer service.

Strong interpersonal/team skills and effective working relationships with managers/leads assistance.

Capacity to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.

Established Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Solid work ethic and organizational skills are a must. Must be dependable, accurate and efficient.

Preferred:

Knowledge of banking terminology and/or previous banking experience.

Experience with legal process administration, including levies and garnishments.

Strong attention to detail.

Previous recent experience using Fiserv banking platform software.

1-2 years customer service experience.

Dimension of Job:

The position entails completing bank-wide central operations payments duties as assigned. Additionally, it involves monitoring and processing levies and garnishments, electronic payments and deposits, debit and gift cards, stop pays, and returns as outlined in Payments Department procedures.

Position Specific Responsibilities, Duties, and Competencies

Operational Functions:

Reviewing and approving mobile and ATM deposits
Monitoring, investigating, and reporting debit card fraud
Processing debit card, ACH, Zelle, and electronic draft disputes
Researching debit card, ACH, and other electronic payment transactions
Scanning, indexing, and maintaining bank documents as required
Performing debit card and account maintenance activities
Processing customer stop payment requests
Responding to customer and branch inquiries through phone queues and email requests
Resolving operational issues and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
Providing training and support to co-workers as needed
Ensure all legal requests are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies
Performing additional duties as assigned to meet evolving operational and business needs

Cross Train and Back-up:

Cross training for other operational functions as necessary to ensure appropriate task coverage, once proficiency in current work tasks has been achieved.
Backup duties as assigned.
