  Rotating call (one day/week & every fifth weekend; 3-4 late days/month)

  May float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals

Qualifications – Cath Lab RN

• Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab Registered Nurse experience
• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at start)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Epic charting system proficiency preferred
• Strong clinical skills in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Ability to float to other nursing units as needed
• Two manager/supervisor references from the past 12 months preferred

Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures: cardiac stent placement, left/right heart catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, PCI, and more
• Administer and monitor medications: antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency meds, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation
• Perform IV therapy, including blood product administration and IV starts
• Monitor and interpret 12 Lead EKGs, ACT, and dysrhythmias
• Circulate procedures and maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Sheath removal and post-procedural patient monitoring
• Utilize advanced cardiac equipment:
  Impella, Penumbra, EKOS, Roto, Ultrasound, Shockwave, ACIST, GE Mac Lab system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, pharmacy, rapid response, etc.)
• Document patient care using Epic and communicate effectively via SBAR
