Position Summary:
The person in this position will oversee the day-to-day laboratory functions in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences (PCS) in the laboratories located in Maddox Hall, JP Riddle Building, and Leslie Campbell Science Building. She/he will assist faculty in the training of undergraduate and graduate students on various laboratory techniques and laboratory safety to optimize the outcomes of bench research activities.
She/he will ensure the operational integrity of student laboratories including proper chemical, consumable, and equipment inventories to support research and teaching activities.
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of pharmaceutical science laboratories.
Assist faculty in the training of undergraduate and graduate students on cell culture and biomedical techniques (PAGE, ELISA)
Assist faculty in the training of undergraduate and graduate students on various analytical techniques (UV, HPLC and solution prep)
With some supervision, review weekly PHSC 325L Biochemistry laboratory concepts with students, instruct Biochemistry sections, and grade student notebook pages and worksheets.
With some supervision, provide weekly support to PHRD 535 Pharmaceutical Compounding weekly setup of 30+ stations, cleanup and overall organization.
Develop instructional tools – such as PowerPoint presentation lectures, quiz/worksheet templates and keys – for use in helping to maintain a high and consistent standard of teaching in weekly labs
Attend Department meeting as scheduled
Responsible for inventory management for all laboratories.
Generate standard operating procedures (SOP) as directed.
Assist faculty members to maintain clean and safe laboratory environments.
Assist faculty members to maintain compliance documentation, including records and reports
Assist and schedule major repairs and annual maintenance/calibration of equipment and instrumentation.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related biomedical field is recommended.
Two (2) years’ experience in biomedical techniques (ELISA, PAGE). Cell culture experience is recommended. On-site training will be provided.
Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment, including researching new ways to accomplish tasks, and participating in training sessions; be a self-starter and team-player, and willingness to assist in other areas as needed.
Strong communication and management skills for interacting with faculty, staff, students, and other institutional staff persons, laboratory supply vendors, and service contractors.

Substantial independent decision making and organization for development of laboratory activities, preparation, and implementation of laboratory activities.
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms.
Demonstrate tact, positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
