Explore an exciting opportunity with AHWFB Pediatric Department as we welcome a skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant to join our inpatient team in Winston-Salem, NC. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week and benefits eligibility.
Position details include department and practice location: 01450 WFBMG University Group Practice: WFBMC Main - Pediatrics:
General. Schedule varies. Pay range is $51.05 - $76.60 per hour.
- CME Reimbursement: up to $2,500 and 5 additional PTO days per year for Continuing Medical Education.

The clinician (PA/PNP) will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a clinical setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
- Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Perform procedures per department or practice guidelines.
- Precept students and/or medical learners when possible.
- Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Work under the regulatory mandate from the respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental credentialing from the institution.
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program;
Master's Degree preferred - Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
- Minimum of one year of provider experience in newborn medicine
- BLS and NRP are required
Nurse Practitioner Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program;
Master’s degree or higher required - Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care (NNP, PNP-AC, and PNP-PC, FNP are acceptable) by AANP, ANCC or PNCB
- Minimum of one year of provider experience in newborn medicine
- BLS, PNCB and NRP are required
