Description:
This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The unit operates similarly to an ICU.
Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias.
Patients may include those requiring post-follow-up from rapid response teams, respiratory distress, and unstable hemodynamics.
Candidates should be comfortable floating as needed to sister units.
Weekend shifts are required every other week.
The unit supports various special procedures, including the administration of certain pressor drips.
Effective communication and teamwork are essential for providing high-quality patient care.
Candidates must be prepared to work with patients across different age groups, from adolescents to geriatrics.
This position may involve the use of bedside telemetry monitors and other specialized equipment.
The daily patient census may vary, requiring adaptability and prioritization skills.
Nurses should be familiar with common medications used in an ICU stepdown setting.
Strong drip management experience is crucial for success in this role.
Candidates must adhere to all safety and procedural protocols during patient care.
The travel experience is welcomed, and first-time travelers are accepted.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn are beneficial traits for this position.
