The Senior Software Engineer plays a key role in delivering data products and services that power Inmar’s healthcare analytics and applications. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, building reliable data access layers, APIs, and application‑facing datasets while collaborating closely with platform, analytics, and product teams.

Data Products & Delivery (40%)
  • Design and deliver data products that make analytics, insights, and ML outputs easily consumable by downstream applications and users.
  • Build and maintain data access layers, including views, services, and APIs that expose curated datasets securely and at scale.
  • Develop and support RESTful APIs and service endpoints for data retrieval, integrations, and internal platform use cases.
  • Ensure data products meet standards for reliability, performance, documentation, and usability.
Applied ML & AI Enablement (20%)
  • Integrate ML and AI outputs into data products and services, enabling downstream consumption by applications and analytics tools.
  • Support feature delivery, inference outputs, and GenAI‑driven workflows in collaboration with data science and analytics teams.
  • Apply working knowledge of machine learning, NLP, and GenAI concepts, including prompt engineering, to real‑world data product use cases.
  • Contribute to MLOps patterns, such as model input/output handling, monitoring hooks, and versioned data access.
Platform & Integration Engineering (20%)
  • Collaborate with data platform and pipeline teams to ensure upstream data is well‑modeled, reliable, and ready for consumption.
  • Optimize data access patterns across Big Query, Iceberg, and Trino/Starburst for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and governance controls for data services and APIs.
Technical Collaboration & Ownership (10%)
  • Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into well‑defined data products.
  • Break down moderately complex problems and contribute to design and architectural discussions.
  • Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Quality, Mentorship & Best Practices (10%)
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code; participate in code reviews and design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help uphold engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to improvements in CI/CD, testing, observability, and developer workflows.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Big Query, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience delivering data products, including APIs, services, or application‑facing datasets.
  • Working knowledge of machine learning or AI concepts, such as feature engineering, model inputs/outputs, or GenAI usage.
  • Experience working on cloud‑based data or analytics platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and performance considerations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Preferred
  • Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs or microservices.
  • Hands‑on exposure to ML/AI workflows, including model integration or prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, or cloud‑native development practices.
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated data environments.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is 91,364.63 –  USD Annual. The final offer may vary based on factors such as geographic location, job‑related skills, education, certifications, work experience, and other relevant considerations.

Annual discretionary bonuses, equity grants, sign‑on bonuses, and other tailored incentive opportunities may be available.
