Strategic Network Security Engineer
Lenovo’s Global Cyber Security Team is seeking highly skilled and motivated professionals who are passionate about defending organizations against today’s evolving cyber threats. Candidates must possess substantial cyber security experience and strong technical capabilities. Expert‑level networking skills are essential. Familiarity with generative AI technologies is a plus.
Responsibilities- Protect Lenovo’s global network and support the deployment of AI‑driven security technologies.
- Design, implement, and maintain technical controls to safeguard systems and data.
- Conduct technical security assessments for internal projects and third‑party engagements.
- Develop and maintain technical security standards and documentation.
- Participate in incident response and security operations as needed.
- Stay current with cyber security threats, trends, and best practices.
- Ensure security programs are robust, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Occasional domestic and international travel (≈5%) for technical meetings and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- System administration (Linux or Windows) and security engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in global corporate network administration and protection.
- 5+ years of experience applying cyber security and/or information security principles.
- 8+ years of technical experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Web application development, deployment, and support
- Cloud administration (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Tencent, Alibaba)
- Network design, deployment, and administration
- Current certifications in Information Security or Cyber Security (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, CEH, Security+).
- Working knowledge of AI technologies and their security implications.
- Familiarity with cloud‑based AI service providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, Ali Cloud).
- Understanding of cyber security control frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience with generative AI platforms and solutions.
- Proven track record leading global security initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience in cyber security operations, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency with a wide range of security tools.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days remote) based in either Raleigh, NC or Chicago, IL.
Base salary range: $150,000–$175,000 (annually). Compensation may include bonus and/or commission.
