Description:

• SMBC is undergoing a digital transformation to modernize its enterprise data platform across Capital Markets and Nikko Securities.
• As part of this initiative, we are seeking an experienced Data Governance / Data Quality Engineer to support the design and implementation of data governance, data quality, and lineage solutions using Collibra and Azure-based platforms.
• This role will work closely with Data Strategy, Business, and Data Engineering teams to ensure high-quality, governed, and trusted data across key domains such as Reference data, Market data and Operational data.

• Support enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives across critical data domains.
• Implement and enhance Collibra-based governance and DQ capabilities.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and metadata management are embedded into the data platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, governed data solutions.

• Develop and maintain data quality rules using Collibra DQ.
• Implement and manage data governance assets (business glossary, data catalog, stewardship workflows).
• Support data lineage mapping across systems and pipelines.
• Perform data profiling, validation, and issue analysis using SQL.
• Integrate Collibra with Azure data platform (ADF, Databricks, Data Lake).
• Develop automation and utilities using Python or similar languages.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Engineers to define and enforce DQ controls.
• Ensure code promotion using CI/CD, version control (Git), and deployment best practices.
• Maintain documentation and governance artifacts in tools like Confluence and repositories.
• Experience in financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes and market data are a plus.
